What is Celebrate With Pride?

Celebrate With Pride is ACON’s community fundraising platform that aims to inspire people to make a difference by turning their events, activities and/or promotions into a fundraiser that supports LGBTQ mental health. Every dollar raised through Celebrate With Pride will go towards ACON programs and services that improve the mental health and wellbeing of LGBTQ people across NSW.

I want to get involved. How does Celebrate With Pride work?

It’s super easy. To get involved with Celebrate With Pride and support LGBTQ mental health, simply host an event and raise funds for ACON. If you already have an event organised, you can turn it into an ACON fundraiser.

Once you have decided on an event idea, then register your event and create a fundraising page.

I’d like to host an event for Celebrate With Pride. How do I register?

Fantastic! Getting started is super easy. By registering, you will be able to create a customised fundraising page, which will help you raise funds.

I already have an event organised. Is it too late to register it as part of Celebrate With Pride?

Of course not! Even something as simple as having a donation tin for ACON at your workplace will make a difference. Registering your event as an ACON fundraiser will allow us to provide you with all the support and resources you need.

My Celebrate With Pride event is at my workplace. Should I get my workplace or employee pride/LGBTQ network to register?

If your workplace or employee pride network is hosting an event that will raise funds for ACON, then yes, we urge you to register your event as part of Celebrate With Pride. By doing so, we will be able to provide your employee pride network/workplace with all the necessary information and resources on fundraising for ACON. Plus, we’ll be able to give you all the support you need to make your pride event/ACON fundraiser a success.

How do I collect donations?

By registering your event online, you will get your own personalised fundraising page. You can share this page on social media or via email to ask people for donations. Your friends, family and colleagues can donate directly to ACON via your personalised fundraising page.

You can also create posters with a QR code to your personalised fundraising page. Get in touch with us so we can help you with this.

You can also print signs for donation boxes or tins at your event. Be sure to bank your funds at the conclusion of your event. You can do that by depositing donations you have collected by direct transfer or at your local bank branch, or paying by credit card. Check out more info about banking funds here.

Where does my money go?

Funds raised from Celebrate With Pride helps ACON’s work in LGBTQ mental health and wellbeing. ACON provides counselling, crisis and support services for LGBTQ people and people living with HIV in NSW. We also provide home-based care, care coordination services, meal services, and mental health peer services. Much of this work do not receive government funding and rely on donations from our communities.

How do I bank my funds?

It’s important to bank the donations to ACON you receive from your event as soon as possible. You can do it by credit cards, direct transfer, at your local bank or by post. For more information about how to bank your funds, click here.
